Season 3[]

Sara is afflicted with "old whore's sickness", which causes her to hemorrhage large amounts of blood. Though Eva does what she can for Sara, there is no permanent fix to this problem and one day she will simply bleed to death. Jack, her beau, is distraught over her condition and stays with her as much as possible. ("Range War")
Sara convinces Jack to abduct Eva's baby. When Bohannon and Elam locate Sara and Jack several miles outside of Hell on Wheels, Sara tells Bohannon she thought Eva didn't want the baby. By this time, Sara has begun to bleed again and can't ride for long. The pair are left in the wilderness to fend for themselves, as Bohannon considers them kidnappers and horse thieves and bans them from the town. ("Searchers")
